"Too often we give OUR children answers to remember rather than problems to solve."Most of the time, we as parent prefer to give our children answer after answer to remember. It's not just a mere answers but more likely instructions or rules to follow.
For example, we say "You have to sleep at 10 o'clock so that you are not going to feel sleepy tomorrow."
The answers to remember are : (i) Not to be sleepy. (ii) I have to sleep at 10 o'clock.
Better way (in my opinion) : "How to get enough sleep so that I will feel great when I wake up tomorrow?"
Ask your children the question and listen to their answer. You'll surprise with the answers.
Towards your happiness!
